Reigning over the pageantry of the 47th Beaux Arts Krewe Ball on Feb. 28 were King David Millhouse and a beautiful Queen Alie B. Gorrie. The Krewe Ball benefits the Birmingham Museum of Art.
The queen’s identity was not known to her subjects until she entered the ballroom at Boutwell Auditorium. Also revealed that night at the ball were Ladies in Waiting, Elizabeth Corey, Carolyne Nix, Addison Powell and Winston Powell.
King David’s wife Kate viewed the pageantry with family and friends in the King’s Royal Box. She was a Princess of the Krewe in 1977. Their daughter Katherine was the Queen of the Krewe in 2008.
